Kedarnath Yatra requires mandatory online registration at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in. The temple opens in late April (Akshaya Tritiya) and closes in November (Bhai Dooj). Sonprayag is the mandatory motorable drop-off point for our Kedarnath taxis. Continue from Sonprayag to Gaurikund by local shuttle or on foot where permitted by local authorities. The Kedarnath trek starts at Gaurikund; our taxi does not drive to Gaurikund or the temple. The 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath takes 6-8 hours. Ponies and palki services are available. Helicopter services from Phata/Sirsi are available one way — book months in advance for peak season.
